Canadian Dental Care Plan

At Sweet Tooth Dentistry, we're dedicated to providing accessible and affordable dental care to our community. We're proud to participate in the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP), a federal initiative aimed at reducing financial barriers to oral health services for eligible Canadians.

Comprehensive Coverage Under the CDCP:

The CDCP offers extensive coverage for a variety of dental services, ensuring that you receive the care you need. Covered services include:

  • Diagnostic and Preventive Services: Regular dental exams, X-rays, cleanings (scaling), fluoride treatments, and sealants to maintain optimal oral health.
  • Basic Services: Permanent and temporary fillings, root canal treatments, and non-surgical gum disease management to address common dental issues.
  • Major Services:Crowns, dentures (including repairs and relines), and certain oral surgeries to restore and enhance dental function.

Please note that some services may require preauthorization, and coverage is subject to specific criteria and frequency limitations. For a detailed list of covered services and any associated requirements, please refer to the official CDCP coverage details.

Co-Payments and Out-of-Pocket Expenses:

Your coverage level under the CDCP is determined by your adjusted family net income:

  • Income below $70,000: 100% of eligible service costs covered at CDCP established fees.
  • Income between $70,000 and $79,999: 60% of eligible service costs covered at CDCP established fees.
  • Income between $80,000 and $89,999: 40% of eligible service costs covered at CDCP established fees.

It's important to understand that the CDCP established fees may differ from standard dental office fees. Any difference between the CDCP's coverage and our fees will be your responsibility. We encourage you to discuss potential out-of-pocket costs with our office before proceeding with treatment.

Application Process:

Eligible individuals can apply for the CDCP through the official Government of Canada website. The application process is straightforward, and once approved, you will receive a member card to present during dental visits. For assistance with the application or to check your eligibility, please visit the CDCP application page.

Important Considerations:

  • Preauthorization:Certain services may require preauthorization under the CDCP. Our team will guide you through this process to ensure timely approval and treatment.
  • Coordination with Other Programs: If you have dental coverage through other government social programs, the CDCP coordinates benefits to avoid duplication. Please inform us of any additional coverage you may have.
  • Renewal: CDCP coverage requires annual renewal. Ensure you renew your coverage by June 1, 2025, to avoid any gaps. For more details, visit the CDCP renewal page.

For more information about the CDCP, including detailed eligibility criteria and application procedures, please visit the official Government of Canada CDCP page.

At Sweet Tooth Dentistry, your oral health is our priority. We're here to provide you with quality care under the CDCP and ensure your dental experience is comfortable and personalized
